FUN FOR THE YOUNG

Summer Camp 2016
Ages 4-7

 

Monday - Thursday
10 AM - 3 PM
(optional extended hours 9 AM - 10 AM for $10/day)

WEEK 1: July 18 - July 21

WEEK 2: July 25 - July 28

WEEK 3: August 1 - August 4

This summer your young child can enjoy a camp program suited particularly to his or her needs.  The program is held outdoors in the wonderful play yard at Whatcom Hills Waldorf School.

Components of the day include:

  • circle time & games 
  • simple, picnic style snack
  • outdoor play time
  • age appropriate nature based art
  • lunch time (indoors)
  • water play time
  • popsicle time

The program is led by a certified and experienced Waldorf teacher with an assistant.  Sign up for one or both weeks.

SUMMER GARDENING CAMPS AT WHWS

Ages 8-11

 

Monday - Thursday
10 AM - 3 PM
(optional early start at 9am with Adrienne Doucette)

WEEK 1: July 18-21 Magic Potions and Lotions
Kids will learn how to grow, harvest, and use plants to make fun products to nourish their bodies inside and out.

WEEK 2: July 25-28 Wildcrafting
We will learn how to identify and use wild plants for food, medicine, tools, and crafts. We will take the city bus for outings to Whatcom Falls Park and Galbraith Mountain.

This summer program is held in the garden at the Whatcom Hills Waldorf School with some exploration of the nearby parks and forests. Developmentally appropriate games and activities will provide enriching and fun opportunities for your child.

Components of the day include:

  • Circle time & games 
  • Planting, harvesting, and cooking from the garden
  • Outdoor exploration and play time
  • Age Appropriate arts and crafts

This camp is led by Heather Tiszai, the founder of Growing Alliances and gardening teacher at Whatcom Hills Waldorf School. Depending on enrollment, one or two assistants will also help out. Simple, organic snacks are provided. Participants will bring their own lunch. Sign up for one or both weeks.
